I have recently bought a new Sony Blu-ray player with streaming. Upon purchase I had a big decision to make. Hulu-Plus or Netflix.
I love watching television shows but its always so hard to keep up. I always used to watch Hulu on my computer but it would be much more convenient to be able to have that all available on my television so my computer would be free to do other things.
One big difference is that Netflix is more movie based while Hulu-Plus is more television based. They are the same price, so I came to my next dilemma. Which did I want more... Television or Movies?
I am obsessed with movies and love watching all different kinds of movies. But I also own a ton of movies. I decided that I would much rather be able to watch television rather than movies. Along with having current seasons available they also have older seasons. Many of the seasons available on Hulu-Plus were not available on Netflix. So the decision was made and I chose Hulu-Plus.
I now am able to watch television shows whenever I feel like and not have to worry about being home at a certain time.
Within the past couple of years television has changed so much. With the invention of Tivo and DVR you can record any show thats on and come back and watch it at any time. You can also fast forward through commercials. So many things have been available to us to save time. Rarely anyone watches a show at its designated time slot. There are so many different devises that aid us in watching shows around our time schedule.
If were able to just fast forward through commercials how is that going to effect advertising?
Are commercials a thing of the past?
How are products and companies going to advertise?
Where will television be in 5 years?

Good questions, & I haven't seen the answers anywhere yet. What will advertisers do?
